Of
Steroids

side effects of steroids

The side effects of steroids can be uncomfortable, violent, and even deadly. And, these drugs are useless for penis straightening.

The use of intralesional steroids may help persistent plaque pain, but
they should not be used to treat curvature

What Is
A Steroid?

"Steroids" is the short word for "anabolic steroids".  They are synthetic testosterone medications. These are strong and dangerous drugs. We hear so much about their use in sports these days that they don't seem to get much more consideration than common aspirin.

Their abuse is common. Often due to lack of education, many people use these drugs without any knowledge of the serious possible side effects of steroids.

So, what are these things?

Anabolic steroids are powerful synthetic (man made) derivatives of the male hormone testosterone. They are most commonly used to increase protein synthesis within the cells and build tissue mass.

They are so potent that they must be injected into a muscle or taken orally for slow dispersion in to the body. If they are injected directly into a vein or artery they can easily cause death.

Their use is dangerous. It should be confined to use only when absolutely necessary for legitimate medical purposes under a physician's care.

They are usually designed to retain the muscle building factors of testosterone while eliminating the male characteristic factors found in natural male testosterone.

Medical uses of anabolic steroids include:

  • rebuilding of body tissue following debilitating surgery or infection
  • prevention of muscular atrophy in patients who must be inactive for prolonged periods of time
  • supplementing testosterone in males who are deficient in this hormone.

Steroids Use
in
Peyronies Disease

A bent penis from the scarring and plaque formation found in Peyronies Disease should never be treated with these drugs. The side effects from steroids can cause grave consequences.

"Anabolic steroids

have proven useless for straightening a bent penis."

The reason anabolic steroids are used on a bent penis is to try to soften the scar or plaque that is causing the bending so there will be no pain on erection.

It's idiocy! These drugs are dangerous and should never be used when not absolutely necessary. The theory here is that it is only a small amount used for a limited period of time.

The truth is, the injected drug can migrate from the scar directly into the blood stream and can cause all the usual side effects of steroids.

If immediate improvement of pain on erection is the only desired outcome, injections have also been used that do not have the severe possible side effects of steroids. These include Verapamil and Collagenase.

What Are the Possible
Side Effects
of Steroids?

The possible side effects of steroids are both psychological and physical. They can range from annoying, uncomfortable, and disturbing to deadly!

The psychological side effects of steroids can include:

  • ROID RAGE ('ROID' is short for " Anabolic Steroid". Named for the extreme aggression that can be triggered by the heightened hormone levels emitted with their use)

  • Violence

  • Suicide

  • Homicide

  • Psychosis
  • Mood swings
  • Mania
  • Excessive Aggression
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Addiction

These psychological consequences are all too common. Unfortunately, they tend to be the norm rather than the exception.

Using these drugs puts testosterone at unusually high levels. This can cause a persons whole personality to change. Users are known to pick fights for no reason and attack people. They very often become a danger to themselves and others.

There have been numerous cases of suicide and homicide related to the use of these drugs. These are side effects that should concern people the most. It no longer just involves the user, but everyone around him.

The physical side effects of steroids can include:

  • Breast enlargement in men
  • Atrophy (shrinking) of the testicles
  • Infertility
  • Impotence
  • Severe acne
  • Premature balding voice
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Bloody diarrhea
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Death
  • Headache
  • Liver disease
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular problems
  • Blood clots
  • High blood pressure
  • Liver tumors
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Immune system dysfunction and suppression
  • Dizziness
  • Chills
  • Fever
  • Drowsiness
  • Bloating, associated with water retention
  • Muscle tremors
  • High pitched voice
  • Seizure-like movements
  • Breathing difficulty
  • Pain and difficulty urinating
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Greasy skin

WOW!!!

Are those things you really want to risk? Especially when it is unnecessary?

Doesn't it become easy to see that these drugs are dangerous entities and should not be used casually? And that the side effects of steroids can be serious physical and psychological damage? Some of the damage is irreversible.

Don't let anyone fool you by telling you that you don't get enough in you from penis injections to cause you possible physical or mental harm. You very easily could.

Even small doses can be very insidious and may cause varying degrees of psychosis.

And, there is no need to risk the side effects of steroids and just because you want to fix a bent penis condition.

There are currently 23 different manufactures of penis traction devices that I have been able to locate. Only 1 of these have met all my personal requirements for safety, effectiveness, and comfort. Yes, comfort matters when you use one of these every day.
